Julie Shifman

Julie Shifman believes in reinvention. She started her career as a professional ballet dancer and then left ballet to go to law school. After a highly successful career as a lawyer in New York City and Cincinnati, she reinvented again in 2000 and founded Shifman & Associates - a non-profit business consulting firm. One of her most significant consulting projects was the creation and management of EXCEL (EXecutive Curriculum for Emerging Leaders), a leadership development program for non-profit executives, and winner of the prestigious Program Excellence Award by the American Society for Public Administration.

As her interest in people development gravitated towards helping women, Julie founded Act Three…After Your First Career and Motherhood in 2008. Act Three works with women who are interested in exploring their next stage of life using a systematic process of:

seminars
workshops
skills training

In 2010, Julie launched Imagine…Then Do It!, a highly successful inspirational women's event. She is a sought after inspirational speaker for women's events and workshops around the country, and is a Certified Coach and an adjunct professor of business at Xavier University. She was recently awarded the prestigious Athena award by Cincy Magazine and was named as a 2011 Woman to Watch by the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Julie's formal training includes a B.A. from North Central College, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado and a Masters in Tax Law from New York University.

Julie is the mother of four sons and is actively involved in the Cincinnati community. She served as the Chairperson of the Board of Talbert House, (the largest social service agency in Southern Ohio). She was also the Chair of the Tax Section of the Cincinnati Bar Association. She is currently a board member of the United Way of Greater Cincinnati, and the Cincinnati Ballet Company.
